Expanded Penalty-Free Withdrawal Provision

If a policyholder has separated from service after attaining age 55, has had the policy for five policy years, and withdrawals are used to fund retirement benefits under the plan, the guaranteed free withdrawal provision automatically increases from 3% each year to 20%, 25%, 33 1/3 %, then 50% of the Net Cash Accumulation Value in Policy Years 6-9 respectively.

Loans and Withdrawals

Withdrawals or loans may generate an income tax liability, reduce available cash value, reduce the death benefit, or cause the policy to lapse. The IRS imposes a 10% penalty on withdrawals of taxable funds before age 59½ unless specifically exempted. Consult your tax attorney or qualified tax professional for details.

The 4% bonus is available for cash withdrawals in equal installments when it is transferred to the Cash Accumulation Value at the end of Policy Years 11-15.

Annuitizations

Amount

The full amount of your policy, including the bonus account value minus any loans, is available for annuitizations.

Minimum Period

In Policy Year 1 and thereafter, you may annuitize over any period of five years or longer. After Policy Year 5, you may annuitize over any period of 36 months or longer.

Fixed Period Only, Life Only, 10-year Certain and Life, Joint, 100% Survivor and any other option we may offer.

Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)

Planned Withdrawals

These features allow the policyholder access to policy funds at retirement without annuitizing.

RMD is a payout based on your life expectancy or the combined life expectancy of you and a beneficiary that is designed to meet the Minimum Distribution Requirements. Generally, RMDs for 403(b) plans must begin by April 1st of the year following the later of the year in which you turn 70½ or retire. RMD payouts are recalculated annually based on your life expectancy (ies). Based upon the accuracy of the data provided to ReliaStar Life Insurance Company, the calculation of your RMD amount is guaranteed by the Company to comply with IRS guidelines.
